6 Months Old!
Caleb is six months old! It is amazing to think that he has been in our lives for half a year! In some ways it seems like it has gone by so fast, yet in other ways it feels like he has been a part of our life for a long time. He went to the doctor's for his six month checkup on Tuesday. He weighed 15 lbs. (13th percentile) and was 27 3/4 inches long (91st percentile). He is learning how to do so many things right now! He can sit up all by himself. He started doing that at around 5 1/2 months. He loves to sit up and roll a ball back and forth between me and Todd. He is such a big boy! He is rolling around a lot now, although he is a lot better at rolling from his back to stomach than the other way around. He loves his toys. He is so funny because he knows what things are his and when he sees them he gets so excited and wants to play with them! He tries to grab anything within reach. He still loves his exersaucer and jumparoo. He also really likes baths and walks and anything else we do outside. It is so much fun now that he really interacts with us. He loves playing peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. He sometimes enjoys looking at books. Although right now he still pretty much just wants to eat them. He loves his mommy and daddy. His eyes light up and he gives both of us a big smile whenever he sees us. He has started to have some stranger anxiety and is not always happy when someone else holds him. It usually just takes him a little while to warm up to others and then he is ok. We gave him his first taste of cereal last weekend. He was not a fan! He didn't cry about it at all, but he just sits there turns his head and closes his mouth tightly. He looks at you like he is thinking "are you really wanting me to eat that stuff?" We are going to try some vegetables later this week. He had his first cold a month ago. We all got sick and didn't feel well for two weeks. It was no fun. He got his shots this past Tuesday and had a fever all day yesterday and also seemed like he was getting another cold. Hopefully this one won't be so bad. We are enjoying each stage of Caleb's life so much. We are so thankful for him!
